1968 Javelin

The AMC AMX was introduced on Feb. 24 1968 as a mid 1968 model. It joined the Ford Thunderbird and the Chevrolet Corvette as the only American two seat sports cars. The base price was a set at $3245 and standard equipment on the AMX included reclining bucket seats carpeting wood grain interior trim E70-14 Goodyear polyglas tires a four-speed manual transmission and a heavy-duty suspension. The car was well received buy the press and it compared well against its peers.
