In 1969 a 2-door hardtop was added to the Super Bee model. The Super Bee also had a now Dodge Scat-Pack badge added to the grille and the trunk. The Ramcharger cold-air induction system (standard on the Hemi models) featured two large hood scoops an under-hood air plenum and a switch to select between the temperatures. The biggest change in the 1969 model though was the new optional engine which made your created the Dodge 440 Six Pack! With only the center carb being used for normal driving the driver need only ?put the pedal to the medal? to open all six. Output was increased to 390 bhp. The Hurst four-speed transmission was standard but options such as disc brakes air-conditioning and cruise control were not allowed. The racier looking version had a lift off black hood made of fiberglass four NASCAR tie down pins and a large air scoop molded right in with Six Pack written on the sides. The 440 Six Pack ran about $460 ($500 less than the Hemi). The 440 Six Pack could hold its own against the Hemi up to 70 MPH though.
